Packaging & Range

• Why did you change the sports cap on your Buxton bottle?
  We are continually investing in research and technology to offer more convenient products for our consumers. This new sports cap is easier to open and close with one hand, has a smooth lip touch and can be closed and opened many times without it breaking.
• Why have you changed the (screw) cap - it’s hard to open...
  We have engaged in developing new generations of packaging including bottles, caps, and labels that allows using less plastic without compromising quality. The new cap means it uses 26% less plastic while guarantying a good seal & protection to the water inside.
• Have you changed all the Buxton range to this new bottle shape?
  The new Buxton bottle shape will be launched in the following sizes, in still water only:
  - 25cl sports cap,
  - 50cl,
  - 75cl sports cap,
  - 1L sports cap.
  - 1.5L
  The change will take place over the course of the year, depending on the bottle format. Our 50cl sparkling bottle will not be changed for the time being.
• Will you reduce the plastic in the Buxton sparkling bottle?
  Our Buxton 50cl sparkling bottle will not be changed for the time being. It’s harder to reduce the plastic used in sparkling water bottles, because it plays a role in keeping the fizz in the bottle.
• Why don’t you use Recycled plastic instead of taking plastic out of the bottle?
  We are exploring all new packaging solutions that could reduce our environmental impacts even more in the future.
  As of today, we believe that we can help make the biggest difference by helping to improve PET waste collection and recycling systems, and by continuing to reduce the amount of material required for our products.
• Why don’t you use bio-plastic instead of taking plastic out of the bottle?
  We are actively working on developing viable packaging solutions for the coming years. As of today, we believe that we can help make the biggest difference by helping to improve PET waste collection and recycling systems, and by continuing to reduce the amount of material required for our products.
• Why didn’t you reduce the plastic used in the bottle before?
  We have just built a new state of the art factory and invested in the latest generation of bottling lines: these are the only ones capable of making our new designed bottle shape, benefiting from a 25% reduction of plastic used.

Functionality & Usage

• Can I store the new Buxton bottle as the previous one?
  Yes. The new bottle offers the same protection to the water inside as the previous one, but as with all bottled waters, please store in a cool, dry, clean place, away from light, strong odours or chemicals.
• The new Buxton bottle feels flimsy, will it break?
  This new bottle shape has been specifically designed to be as good as the previous shape, whilst using on average 25% less plastic. Our tests in our innovation centre have shown good results and no signs of leakage or bottle breaking when transporting, carrying or holding the bottle.
• Is the new Buxton bottle still recyclable?
  Yes, our new bottle remains 100% recyclable. (Like many beverages that are sold commercially, our bottles are made of PET plastic, which is a 100% recyclable material).
• How much plastic did you take out of....?
  Buxton 25cl - 45%*

• Where is Buxton Natural Mineral Water sourced from?
  Buxton® Natural Mineral Water is sourced in Buxton town at St Ann's Spring, in the heart of the beautiful Peak District.
• What is the difference between a Natural Mineral Water and a Spring Water?
  Natural mineral water must originate from an underground water table, and is bottled at source. It is microbiologically wholesome and naturally free from pollution and harmful micro-organisms. It does need to demonstrate a stable composition of minerals, which is preserved by the extraction and bottling methods.
  Spring water also originates from an underground water table or deposit and is also bottled at source, is microbiologically wholesome and naturally free from pollution and harmful micro-organisms. However, it does not need to demonstrate a stable composition over time.
• Is Buxton® Natural Mineral Water treated chemically?
  No - Buxton® Natural Mineral Water is a 100% NATURAL product and no chemicals are added for any reason.
• What is the mineral composition of Buxton® Natural Mineral Water?
  Buxton® Natural Mineral Water filters naturally underground and travels through a lot of rock before arriving at the surface. To ensure that no large mineral deposits make it into a bottle, we just filter the water when bottling it to remove the potential deposits. This does not remove any of the dissolved minerals in the water that make it so unique.
• What is the PH of Buxton® Natural Mineral Water?
  The Buxton source has a pH of 7.4

The Brand / the Product

• Where can I buy Buxton® Natural Mineral Water?
  Buxton® Natural Mineral Water packs are available in all major supermarkets. It is also available on the go in chillers in high street stores and retailers.
• Do you sell Buxton® Natural Mineral Water abroad?
  No. Buxton® Natural Mineral Water is sold in the UK only. You may also find it served on board a few airlines across Europe.
• Does Buxton® Natural Mineral Water come in flavours?
  No. Buxton® Natural Mineral Water is only available in plain still and carbonated variants.

The Bottle

• Are the Buxton® plastic bottles recyclable?
  Yes - Buxton® Natural Mineral Water bottles are made from PET, a plastic that is widely recycled.

Recycling Tips for Consumers

To help get the plastic bottles recycled, it is important to follow the instructions given by your local authority. Good to know:

• Make sure you plastic bottles are completely empty.
• There is no need to remove the label as the recyclers have systems that will do this
• Squash the bottles with by hand or foot to help get more bottles in the recycling bin
• Removing the lids is a nice rather than necessary instruction and recyclers can separate the caps
• Washing out the drinks bottles is not necessary for recycling purposes. This is only useful when collecting pots, tubs and trays
