The Nestlé Waters & Premium Beverages bottling site in Buxton will be audited under the Alliance for Water Stewardship standard

Water is at the very foundation of what we do, and we’re committed to protecting these precious resources for future generations. In Derbyshire, where we bottle Buxton natural mineral water and Nestlé Pure Life spring water, we collaborate with local stakeholders and communities to address shared water challenges, encourage good practice, and help regenerate local water cycles.

Our outstanding commitment to managing water responsibly has been recognised when our site first achieved the Platinum status under the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) International Standard in March 2021, becoming the first site in the UK to be certified at the highest level available. In 2024, after a rigorous audit process, the platinum status was awarded once again.

On 10-12 March 2026, we’ll be undergoing a standard surveillance audit, and our stakeholders and members of the public are invited to provide their comments before the audit and during the whole duration of the AWS certificate. Alternatively, an interview can be arranged with a member of the audit team. To submit comments and/or arrange an interview please email: assurance@a4ws.org

Alliance for Water Stewardship is a global membership collaboration of businesses, NGOs and the public sector. It focusses on contributing to the sustainability of local water resources by promoting its framework. The AWS Standard is an international accredited standard for measuring responsible water stewardship across social, cultural, environmental, and economic criteria.
