How we went for it at the London Marathon 2015
We couldn’t be more proud to be the Official Water of the London Marathon. After all, it’s everything we love. Naturally pumped up people, going the extra mile to help others. And proving to themselves, whether they finish in three hours or seven, that with the refreshing vitality of Buxton Natural Mineral Water with them all the way, they can enjoy this marathon challenge. Perhaps even dressed as a chicken. Or a tomato.
A pure source of inspiration
Last year, we pumped up our support even more, and were there with runners of all shapes, size and speed, every step of the gruelling 26.2 mile course. Helping thousands of natural heroes stay hydrated with our pure mineral natural water – Buxton water.Of course, we always aim to go further. Our ambition was to be part of every runners’ journey, helping them stay refreshed at the marathon, and in the weeks and months leading up to the race. And of course, to help spectators and supporters be with them all the way on the day itself. So that’s exactly what we did.
Getting everyone closer to the action
Using the Twitter hashtag #WithYouAllTheWay, Buxton Natural Mineral Water became a vital companion to those training for the London Marathon. Running tips, diet advice, much-needed sympathy and top ways to celebrate those little victories along the way, all helped to revitalise runners, giving them the boost they needed to stay the course.
And on the day of the Marathon, anyone, anywhere in Britain could Tweet words of support, while we posted images, videos and gifs in real-time. All of which helped to give to the awesome efforts of the courageous thousands, a fresh new dimension the whole country could take part in.
Going the extra mile, together
We also changed the name of Canada Water tube station in London to Buxton Water for the day. Our Buxton team, went all-out to complete the Marathon, raising vital money for the brilliant Action for Children – voted Charity of Choice by Buxton employees. And because the marathon isn’t just for those running, we helped supporters join in the fun by sharing part of the race with those they care about – and ‘Run With a Loved One’ along the Buxton Water Marathon lane.
Naturally, we can’t forget our very own Buxton Bottleman, who grabbed the Guinness World Record for Fastest Marathon Dressed as a Bottle (yes, there really is a category).
We’re totally pumped for 2016
The 2016 London Marathon is fast approaching, with runners all over Britain pumping themselves up in preparation for the big day. And this year, whoever you are, whatever costume you go for, and however long it takes you to make your way round, we’re getting behind our nation of natural heroes, even more than ever.
That’s because, it’s those who keep putting one foot in front of the other, even if it’s a pink furry hoof, a spotty paw or a great big bird’s foot, that make us smile and make us proud to be there. So, bring on London 2016. Let’s do this.Want to know how you can stay hydrated every step of the way of this year’s marathon? You’ll find this refreshingly helpful
